Arvis - FC Steel Flame Cut Solid Housings

The Arvis FC Steel Flame Cut Solid Housings are heavy-duty flame cut steel plummer blocks in a one-piece design. They replace conventional SN, SNA, SNL, SNH, SNV and SNE housings where greater strength and resistance to shock loads are required. The material is hot-rolled S275 steel plate to BS EN 10025.

Interchangeable to Standard

The FC range is manufactured to BS 5646 Part 4:1979 and is dimensionally interchangeable with SN, SNA, SNL and SNH housings made to this standard or the superseded ISO R/113. This makes it ideal for replacement and retrofit projects where an existing bearing arrangement needs more strength without major machine modifications. The solid housings are available in the FC200 and FC500 series.

Bearing Arrangement, Lubrication and Sealing

The housing accommodates double-row ball bearings and spherical roller bearings, with parallel bores for metric shafts or adaptor sleeves for metric and imperial shafts. The bore has a controlled loose fit around the outer race, absorbing minor mounting inaccuracies, slight misalignment and thermal expansion of the shaft. Locating rings provide axial positioning. The housings are intended for grease lubrication and come with felt seals for up to 4 m/s and 100 °C, a grease nipple and an optional pressure relief valve. Modified holes, oil or oil-mist lubrication and other dimensions are available on request.

The Arvis FC Steel Flame Cut Solid Housings are used in mining, steel, cement, construction, agriculture and conveyors, wherever a stronger alternative to cast iron housings is required.
