The Arvis SG Iron Housing with Gunmetal Bush Hanger Bearing provides dependable support for suspended shafts. The housing is made of spheroidal graphite (SG) iron, also known as ductile iron, which offers greater strength and impact resistance than conventional cast iron. It is fitted with a precision-machined gunmetal bush for excellent wear resistance and long service life.

Replaceable Bearing Shells

The housing is fully split and the split bearing shells are replaceable. The bearing can therefore be inspected or replaced without removing the shaft, reducing maintenance time, downtime and cost while extending the life of the complete assembly. The unit is supplied ready to install with a threaded suspension rod, locknuts and grease nipple; the integrated grease lubrication ensures smooth operation in continuous duty.

Versions

Sealed versions are available for dusty, damp or contaminated environments. SG iron combines mechanical strength with the dimensional stability required for long-term industrial use. Where required, the hanger bearing can also be supplied with alternative non-metallic bearing bushes. Standard sizes include shaft diameters from 60 to 75 mm (2½″ to 3″); non-standard sizes and mounting arrangements are available as custom builds.
