Arvis - FL Range 4 Bolt Flange Housings

The Arvis FL Range 4 Bolt Flange Housings are self-aligning plain bearing housings with a square flange for four-bolt mounting. The grey cast iron housing contains a pre-mounted Glacier DU or DX steel-backed bearing, held in a captive inner member that accommodates shaft misalignment of up to 15°.

Features of the Arvis FL Range

Because the housing is self-aligning, precise positioning and alignment during installation are unnecessary. Edge loading is eliminated, allowing full use to be made of DU and DX performance. The bearing runs with a working clearance on the shaft, so press-fitting is not needed. DU and DX give long life with minimum maintenance, and sealing is unnecessary in most applications. A shaft collar or shoulder provides axial location, and Glacier thrust washers can be added for moderate thrust.

DU is a dry-running bearing material for applications where lubrication is impractical or undesirable, from -200 °C to +280 °C. DX is designed to be greased on assembly and re-greased at extended intervals, and is suitable up to 120 °C. Both are supplied with pre-finished bores.

Sizes and Applications

The FL range is available ex stock in metric and inch sizes for nominal shaft diameters from 10 to 100 mm and ½″ to 4″, at low unit and assembly costs. Other housing materials and special versions are available on request.
