Arvis - DF Range 2 Bolt Flange Housings

The Arvis DF Range 2 Bolt Flange Housings are compact, self-aligning bearing units for applications where flange mounting is preferred. The robust grey cast iron housing is fitted with a pre-mounted Glacier DU or DX steel-backed plain bearing. This combination stands for easy installation, good load capacity and low maintenance.

Self-Aligning and Easy to Install

Each DF housing has a captive self-aligning insert that accommodates shaft misalignment of up to 15°. Highly accurate alignment during installation is therefore unnecessary, saving assembly time and preventing edge loading. As no press-fitting is required, unlike rolling element bearing units, the shaft can be assembled quickly and later replacement is simple. Shaft collars or shoulders can provide axial location, with Glacier thrust washers where moderate thrust loads occur.

Depending on the application, you can choose DU or DX. DU is designed for dry-running conditions where lubrication is difficult or undesirable, at temperatures from -200 °C to +280 °C. DX is intended for grease-lubricated applications up to 120 °C; occasional re-greasing significantly extends its service life.

Sizes and Applications

Thanks to the compact two-bolt flange, the DF range is ideal where mounting space is limited. It is available from stock in metric and inch sizes for shaft diameters from 10 to 100 mm and ½″ to 4″, and can also be made in non-standard sizes or materials.
