Arvis - SSNT Steel Housings

The Arvis SSNT Steel Housings are heavy-duty plummer blocks for industrial applications where conventional cast iron plummer blocks fail. They are made from high-strength steel castings and withstand overload, impact, vibration and harsh operating conditions. Bowman has been producing steel plummer blocks since 1981.

Direct Replacement for SN Housings

SSNT housings are a direct replacement for popular cast iron SN, SNE, SNV, SNA and SNH housings. They accommodate self-aligning ball bearings and spherical roller bearings, mounted directly on a machined shaft or with an adapter sleeve. The solid base allows two-bolt or four-bolt mounting. The range runs from SSNT509 to SSNT532 for shaft diameters from 40 to 160 mm, supplemented by 200, 300 and 600 series. Production takes place under a BSI-approved quality system, with CNC machining and coordinate measuring inspection.

Adaptable to Your Application

Arvis stocks part-finished housings that can be customised with special boundary dimensions, modified end bores, a square-machined base or a bespoke lubrication system. Felt, lip, labyrinth and V-ring seals are available, and closed end covers and grease nipples are supplied where required.

The Arvis SSNT Steel Housings are used in steel manufacturing, mining, quarrying, cement production, precast concrete, paper mills, brick and tile manufacturing, heavy-duty conveyors, cranes, foundries, furnaces and abattoirs.
